Sports Massage

Recover after the rigours of exercise!

What’s it all about?

Sports massage therapy is to help alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissues during physical activity.  Injuries occur, due to overexertion and/or overuse of certain muscles. Whether your a sports person, keep-fitter or you have postural stress caused by office work or a physical demanding job then sports massage therapy can help you feel brand new again. It can really help prevent those niggling injuries that so often get in the way of performance.

What does it entail?

Sports massage is based on the various elements of Swedish massage and often incorporates a combination of other techniques involving:

•    Myofascial Release

•    Myofascial Postural Re-alignment

•    Trigger Point Therapy

•    Soft Tissue Mobilisation

•    Soft Tissue Release

•    Muscle Energy Techniques (PIR, RI & PNF)

•    Static Stretching

I bring together this blend of techniques, knowledge and advice during treatment, to work effectively with the client to bring about optimum performance and to provide injury-free training and minimise post event injuries.

Postural Assessments: Identifies any imbalances that may be causing (or likely to cause) musculo-skeletal problems.  Using a variety techniques combined with stretching and strengthening exercises advice I can assist in improving your posture. As an experienced personal trainer I can also provide one on one sessions to help with your rehabilitation.
