Cheshire Fitness’ Charity Boot Camp raises £1,500 for sick babies and neonatal funds in the North West

The Cheshire Fitness Charity Bootcamp was held on Saturday 13th April 2013 at Wilmslow High School, and proved to be a great success. We’d hoped that people would rally to this worthy cause, but we have to say that we were overwhelmed by the levels of support and encouragement we received on the day.

The last few months have been an emotional roller coaster for Kirsty and me. We’ve experienced some highs, but we have to say that we’ve plummeted the depths too as our daughter, Poppy, fought for her life. Over the last few trying months Poppy has suffered numerous infections, collapsed lungs, a heart murmur and had to undergo laser eye surgery. But we’re proud to say that Poopy is one of life’s fighters. After 10 weeks in intensive care and 4 weeks in High Dependency, we were able to bring our daughter home eventually on 13th March 2013. She may well have only weighed 6lb 1 ounce when we took her home, but we’re delighted to say that she’s continued to make good progress.

The doctors and nurses at Macclesfield and Liverpool Women’s Hospital were magnificent throughout this trying time, and we can only say that we’ve been blown away by their kindness, compassion and absolute dedication. We were determined to give something back, and am pleased to say that so far we’ve managed to raise over £1,500 for sick babies and neonatal funds at hospitals acros the North West. We’re absolutley delighted the response and would sincerely like to thank everyone who took part on the day for their commitment and generosity. Hopefully we’ll be able to continue to raise further funds for the cause during the course of the year.
